On Becoming a Writer
(Being still while being brave)
I enjoy writing in bed.
I play my soft meditative music and snuggle up with 3 dogs and 4 cats and together we write.
I often have my ceiling fan operating and windows open.
I like hearing the sounds of the outside.
Soon I find myself traveling through a storyline that must be told,
often simplistic but with surprising depth.
I like animating characters, both human and non-human.
I like trees that provide lessons for people and patient mail boxes and bus stops with story lines extending decades.

I read the Christmas Box in November 1996 and then promptly purchased a book for everyone in my family.
The second retreat/workshop is coming up. It is hosted by Jennifer Adams whom I met at my own Riders and Writers retreat. She is teaching us over a two day workshop called Picture Book Workshop, June 14-15, 2024. Jennifer Adams books

Recently, I read an article By Eleanor Plackett. It was about becoming a writer at age 40 and leaving a 20-year career behind that she had worked so hard climbing the ladder for.

Covid-19 sparked people in ways that surprised them.
