I thought it was such a peaceful wonderful weekend with the horses; what a great reset!
— Anonymous Past Participant
I think you made me cry! I’ve done yoga before but you brought it to another level. It was such a peaceful place and recognizing the need to sit with the herd, with each other was initially hard. The quiet and the beauty . . .

The art enabled us to freely express our feelings. It was a perfect combination
— Anne Schmid

Sonya Richins

Founder of Wild Heart Sanctuary

Sonya Richins is a certified and highly experienced holistic equine care provider and teacher. The Wild Heart herd is cared for with many organic practices. Richins, grew up with horses, barrel raced, and became a rodeo queen yet doesn’t ride horses any longer. Her mission is to love the horses and help educate people about the abuse wild horses suffer. Wild Heart Sanctuary regularly brings in visitors, from cancer survivors to suicide-risk youths, who find immense personal transformations and heart connection with the horses. Although she doesn’t claim they do any specific curing of ailments, Richins is full of stories about Noble Moon, the wisest healer of the bunch, and the other horses, breathing onto tumors or pain centers and subsequent miraculous recoveries. It’s truly something you have to experience for yourself, just like with the horses.
