"Wellness" means the "Whole Body"

mont-blank walk

Tour du Mont blanc

Many of you read my blog “Walking the Camino.” This was a life altering experience and I’m so happy Michael was able to join me. The people we met, the places we saw and experiencing it all at a walking pace was a magnificent journey for us both.

Well … in celebration of a 34-year teaching career, Michael and I will venture off to another land for another walk. Here is a brief description:

The Tour du Mont Blanc or TMB is one of the most popular long-distance walks in Europe. It circles the Mont Blanc massif, covering a distance of roughly 165 kilometers (103 mi) with 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) of ascent/descent and passing through parts of Switzerland, Italy and France.

It is considered one of the classic long-distance hiking trails. The circular route is normally walked in a counter-clockwise direction in 9–14 days.

Why Walk?

A walking tour can provide a host of therapeutic benefits for both the mind and body. Whether you're looking to reduce stress and anxiety, improve your physical health, increase mindfulness and awareness, or boost creativity and inspiration, a walking tour can help you achieve your goals.

Why do WE Walk?

Michael and I walk for both different and the same reasons. We walk at different paces and require a walkie-talkie so we can remain in contact with one another. We walk to think and NOT to think. We walk to listen to books audibly while surrounded by a visual inspiration beyond what we’ve seen before. We walk to meet people we may never see again.

It recalibrates us.

For as much as we think we are closing a career, we’re actually entering into a new one too.

Wellness mean the WHOLE body

We decided to take this walk one step further.

We will end our walking pilgrimage at Scott Moore’s yoga retreat in …

(WAIT FOR IT

OMG!

Yes, this may all seem like A LOT, but the truth is - we gotta celebrate this accomplishment. (HOW? Overtime shifts, extra side gigs, SkyMiles points, getting a tax return - surprise perk!)

Bottom Line …

Michael and I have lived a rather modest life for the first two thirds of it. We are now Allowing ourselves the opportunity to actualize our dreams that we have had our whole life. Allowing ourselves is half the battle.

Enjoy the Process

Living your best life won’t happen overnight. It’s also likely that what you define as your “best life” will change as time goes on, so it’s important to view it as a process and not a destination.

As you’re working toward living your best life, remember to enjoy the journey. It’s so easy to become caught up in where you want to be that you forget how far you’ve come and how much you have to be grateful for. Don’t let the search for a better tomorrow take away from how good your day is today.

What dreams are you tending?
