Yoga And Menopause Retreat: Where Time Meets Transition

The indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future.

I've been thinking deeply about the passage of time and how our awareness of it shifts with each phase of life. As a yoga instructor and cancer survivor who went from breastfeeding to menopause in what felt like the blink of an eye, I've learned that time – and our bodies – flow in ways we don't always expect.

How we experience time often comes down to four elements: Awareness, Relativity, Perspective, and Expectation. But I always end in the same place: Awareness. This is particularly true when it comes to our bodies' natural transitions.

Just as I learned through my cancer journey, the secret isn't to fight against these changes or give them more attention than necessary. Rather, it's about loving the working, healthy parts of our bodies – the parts that are nourishing and life-giving. Self-acceptance begins with the self.

This is why I'm excited to share a special opportunity with you. On February 22nd, I'm hosting "Gland Finale" – a nurturing afternoon retreat dedicated to women navigating menopause. From 3:30-6:30 pm at The Local Co-op/Mosaic Yoga, we'll explore ways to move through this transition with grace, understanding, and even joy.

Like the practice of mindfulness I've always taught, this retreat is about allowing ourselves to be present with our bodies' wisdom. We'll combine gentle yoga practices with practical tools for managing hot flashes, mood shifts, and other symptoms – not by fighting nature, but by flowing with it.

We are currently living in a time that can challenge our very core emotionally and psychologically. That's why I've also invited guest speakers to share insights from both Western and holistic medicine perspectives. Together, we'll enjoy yoga, organic snacks, and most importantly, community.

Please care for yourself in ways that help yourself, not hurt yourself. Join me for this afternoon of renewal, where we'll explore how to embrace this passage of time with awareness and grace.
