On Becoming a Teacher Part 5
One day, Mrs. Flynn asked us to write - what I later discovered was a fairly common essay question - “What Do I Want To Be When I Grow Up?” After completing the essay, I would place my hand in a plate of plaster of paris to imprint this moment in time. Later we painted the negative space red.
Rise UP Part II
Recently, I witnessed my daughter face a Fast and Furious event requiring quick thinking. There was no room for error and the consequences could have been disastrous. However, she powered through and overcame it. (more about this in a moment)
She didn’t take it personally.
She didn’t melt down and cry. (though that is not a bad thing)
She didn’t get mad.
She managed.
Why We Learn Most When Going Through Challenges
It's no secret that life is full of challenges. We go through tough times in our personal and professional lives. It's how we deal with these challenges that determine our success. Many people believe that we learn the most when we are going through difficult times.

In 1838 this woman climbed Mont Blanc with 18 bottles of wine, 26 roast chickens and a carrier pigeon. The person in question was Henriette D'Angeville, who became the first woman to ascend Mont Blanc in her own particular style.
